If the traditions contradict scripture, then it's a false system, no matter how long it's been going on. The relic stuff where people are rinsing old dead feet in water is a concern. I seriously doubt Polycarp would have wanted people doing that with his hand either. The first 300 years of the early church looks Protestant to me, then you start seeing the added traditions with Basil/Chrystostom (who I still read a lot from).
The Bible must be sufficient or none of us have any hope, because I've never even seen an Orthodox church near my town.
If I was on a desert island and I pick up a Bible, that is sufficient, or there is simply no hope for any of us.
