In evolutionary terms human penis size was probably the product of Fisherian runaway selection, i.e. females preferred mates with larger penises simply for having larger penises as a sign of virility, even beyond any potential practical tangible advantages from increased dick size...so large penis preference is likely hardwired into human minds by this point.
