Why would god put humans in the garden of eden, who he knows have no sense of judgement. And then plant a big obvious big tree right in the middle with fruit hanging down which, if eaten, will cause them to be thrown out of the garden? Isn't it just a given that they'll eat the fruit eventually?
The way that Gnostics tell the story, god is actually the evil one here, jealously trying to prevent humans from attaining knowledge
