Many of these trade jobs are all about overtime, working on call, and trying to pump their guys with as many hours as they can get. Even as a lead technician or installer you can expect to work at least 50 hours a week, more regularly to be 60. It is only a matter of time until you succumb to a torn rotator cuff, a blown out lumbar, or a fucked up knee.
Trade jobs are for people who are not capable of doing anything else. If you are capable of rising through the trade ranks to start your own business and escape the grind, then you are more than capable of doing something like that without risking permanent damage to your body for meager pay.
