>>18175286My father is a christian and my mother is a life-long atheist. They decided that they wouldn't bring up the subject of religion at all as a kid, and that I would be left to figure it out on my own. They're both now in their 60's, I'm in my 30's, and I didn't even know my dad was christian until after I graduated high school. Naturally, I became an atheist because nothing about christianity makes any sense if you think about it rationally, and it was clearly that way by design.
I even got into my first theological debate with a jewish kid when I was in middle school. He acted really smug, and basically pretended not to even understand what not having any kind of afterlife nor reincarnation after death would even be like. Laying down quietly in a box and not moving but fully conscious, or pretending to not know what it's like to sleep but not remember your dreams at all, stupid shit like that. I asked him what he remembers of the thousands of years of history from before he was born, and he froze like a deer in headlights for a few seconds before he said he was with the angels in heaven. Lying kike.
Gradually, I began to hate them.
