So, according to that faulty and very poorly considered definition, a "child" of a certain age (but not all ages of childhood) technically can consent to sexual activity.
"Under federal legislation that applies to all Australians, it is an offence for an Australian citizen, resident or body corporate while outside of Australia to have sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 16 or to induce a child under the age of 16 to have sexual intercourse, or be somehow involved in a similar sexual act."
