>>19470732>Interestingly, the Talmud seems to have picked up on this being part of a Saul vs David polemic, and claims that David was a descendant of king Eglon through his grandmother Ruth who was from Moab. What began as a crude anti-Moab story may have been re-purposed to become an anti-Benjamin or anti-Saul polemicBaal-Peor was the god of Moab. The Moabites are descendants of the incest of Lot's daughters along with Ammon/Ammonites who fled Sodom. The Ammonites called him Milcom/Moloch, who were worshiped in the same way as the Sodomites did.
>>19470714The Roman historian Tacitus says that Jews came from Mount Ida in Crete during the Fall of Saturn. Mt. Ida is named after a Scythian princess, Idaea. Tacitus thought the Jews were from Crete because the name Iudaea appears to be from Idaea. When the Sea Peoples invaded they spread the name across the region, but this happens in the aftermath of the Trojan war. In other words, the Trojan Mt. Ida necessarily has to be in Scythia or the Balkans. Iudaea actually was named after Idaea too but when the Persians conquered it they renamed it "Yehud".
Sodom was called Sittim, the plural Semitic suffix implies two cities. Gomorrah was Amorru, the Amorite capital and the Amorites obviously survived and lived just fine. They were also known as Omri and Khumri, the Assyrian name for Cimmerians. The Sitt implies Sethian which implies Phoenician. We know the Phoenicians and Amorites originated near the Persian Gulf and migrated to Caanan due to some sort of catastrophe. Probably the same one that buried Southern Arabian cities in the desert and dried up lakes and also caused abandonment or the Indus Civilization.
