Even if there's no way to do more than generation ships sublight or drones it just needs to happen once for there to be colonies everywhere.even though insects and other lifeforms likey enter space, they probably stay near their home planet for a very long time
combine that with all the factors of life occurring at all, life seems to be extremely rare, and the universe is big, so thats why we dont see tons of lifeforms (or spaceships) in the sky
it could also be that something out there is eliminating them quickly once they reach that stage
it could also be that our planet and area is protected for intrusion by something or someone
