For example, the number 7 is important to Israeli culture, having their Shemitah period every 7 years. Every "super shemitah" (7x7 years) 49 years is said to be especially auspicious. The Yom Kippur war occured almost exactly 49 years ago and resulted in an oil embargo from OPEC due to western nations supporting Israel during that conflict. Here we are almost half a century later, playing the same song and dance
