The idea is that if there isnt anything major for you to work on in your life (maybe a barn raising or land plowing) then you should engage in some physical activity to maintain not only your physical health, but to also maintain the capacity for commitment and determination.
Working the land is good for the body and mind as youre rewarded with harvest.
Working out in a gym will reward you with increased physical capacity.
Personally, I do body weight excercises and also work my land and on my vehicles.
