You can blame CalArts. Pretty much everything animated that you see on any of the major networks was made by a CalArts grad. Get a bunch of soibois and rainbow-haired dykes together in a liberal art school in Commiefornia and this is what you end up with. The saddest part is that their animation program was started by Walt Disney himself and was the industry standard for decades. He'd be rolling in his grave now if he could see what has become of it.
