«The Church professes and teaches that Old Testament Mosaic rites, after our Lord’s coming, ended—and New Testament sacraments began. Whoever places hope in old law rites—as if faith in Christ could not save—sins mortally. Mosaic rites cannot be observed without loss of eternal salvation. All who observe circumcision or Sabbath the Church declares alien to the Christian faith, unfit for eternal salvation, unless they repent of such errors. The Church commands all who glory in the name of Christian, before or after baptism, to cease entirely from circumcision, since, whether one places hope in it or not, it cannot be observed at all without loss of eternal salvation.»
