>>20498790The blaring music of Club Xtacy becomes audible as Lexi follows Cassie further into the building. “You’re probably wondering why I invited you here,” Cassie says, coming to a halt in front of a door.
“Nah love, can’t say I was. Two long lost cousins hardly need an excuse to spend some time together,” Lexi replies.
Cassie turns to face her. “Well, be that as it may, it just so happens you’re attractive and friendly. The sort of person people like to see in a place like this.”
Lexi smiles. “Oh go on, love! Flattery will get you everywhere.”
Cassie ignores the remark. “So I’d like to offer you a job here at Club Xtacy. Bartending to start with, but if that goes well, some other positions will become available to you.” She lowers her voice. “You’ll come to find that with the right attitude, working here can be a very lucrative experience.”
Lexi remains silent for a moment. She certainly didn’t see herself bartending. In fact, the only form of secondary employment in Spaghetti Town that truly appealed to her was securing a modelling gig with The Divine Touch, and the attention that’d come with it. But this was an opportunity to become closer to Cassie and work her way into her organisation that couldn’t be missed. And as an added bonus, working in a club like this would be perfect for her personal needs…
Lexi smiles as she shakes hands with Cassie. “I’d LOVE to work here.”
“Great, I thought you would.” Cassie pushes the door, which opens directly to the ground floor of the club, which is rapidly filling up with revellers. “Now go on, join the fun, get a feel for the place. I’ve got some work to do back here.”
Lexi nods quickly. “Thank you Cassie!”
As Lexi skips away toward the crowd, Cassie beckons to one of her henchmen. “Keep an eye on her. I know when someone’s hiding something, and she definitely is. I want to know every single thing she does until I find out what.”
The henchman nods. “Yes Miss Kade.”
