well it's just a plot device. playing league in some weird VR environment where it's a series of 1v1s and u take ur opponents weapons when u kill them doesn't make sense either but it's just so u can have a cool video.
that's why he's training someone else instead of playing no? if they went a different route they'd have to include entire teams so they just wanted one recognizable player and faker is basically the face of pro play even if he didn't qualify
i've seen this minx is quite funny sometimes
