>>20588190haha you dont fucking understand refraction at all. we are not seeing the tops of the mountain range barely and refracted, we are seeing the entire BOTTOM of the where the mountain starts as well. no matter what you think the shape of our earth is, there are MANY more photos than this one showing many different mountain ranges and places that are measured with accountability there are many curvature tests on youtube now where people show their honest setup and they are showing how we are able to use optical zoom to bring in ships that long sailed off into the horizon back into the focus of a camera even though they are supposed to be 30 miles+ away. the furthest we are able to see at sea level given the size of our globe before you are seeing out into "space" (because we're on a curved surface) is a little under 3 miles. do you understand how little that is? do you understand what that means?
pic related is the official number they declare that says "NOBODY is able to see more than 2.9 miles at sea level, because beyond that whatever you are looking at would be down the curve of the globe out of your vision. however, on a flat and level surface people are using optical zoom to CLEARLY stay focused on a ship and bring it BACK into vision and its clearly just sailing and sailing up to 30+ miles away, 10x further than we are supposed to be able to see at eye level. our eyes can only see 3 miles and its a limitation of our eyes and how perspective works
