a mic would be preferable but i don't see it being a deciding factor unless it's literally 2 sets of headphones that are borderline identical. the ones i'm replacing now are a hyperx cloud 2, but it came with a defective mic and i've had a decent quality external ones for ages anyway.
considering i do want to upgrade rather than just replace i'll probably have to consider a bigger price range, these ones cost a bit more than i remembered.
going down in sound quality would be a real shame but i really do question my ability to tell, so i should probably prioritize being comfortable and wireless while just trusting anything in the price range i'm looking at will almost assuredly have satisfactory quality at minimum.
as expected /g/ does indeed have a headphones general and it is indeed a bit worthless.
