>>11453463This is correct but butthurt Europeans are going to get upset about this. Our country in particular is retarded. Our government constantly keeps talking about "personal responsibility", even as the virus keeps spreading and it's obvious that nobody is fucking obeying the rules.
Hell, as all countries around us obligated facial masks our own CDC-equivalent kept recommending against it because it would cause a "false sense of security". Now they did a complete 180 on this attitude after so much evidence has been published on the efficacy of facial masks that only a retard could deny it. So our country's policy? Facial masks in public areas are "strongly recommended", and shopkeepers can themselves decide if they are obligatory or not.
Amsterdam is the 3rd worst city in Europe in regards to COVID-19 cases and still our our government refuses to make face masks obligatory. And then we're surprised when Germany declares our two most populated provinces to be "red zones". Germany took precautions, we didn't. Germany acted as the cases developed, we didn't. We just sat back and acted smug.
We mock the Americans for not taking any action to prevent the spread of the virus, but we in the Netherlands deserve just as much mockery if not more.
New measures will be announced tomorrow evening and I wouldn't be surprised if we still don't fucking make facial masks obligatory in public spaces.
>>11453469Seriously. Do that for ONE MONTH, close your borders and the problem should be solved (due to the incubation time being 14 days). ONE WEEK. Then have very strong border checks. We already have tests that can determine whether you have the virus in 15 minutes, just make those obligatory for everyone entering the country after the one month total lockdown.
>But muh economy bix nood muhfuggaYeah, think how great the economy will be if everything can open up again like normal after four weeks. Like in New Zealand before they completely dropped the ball again.
