>>14394518If I could let it out, would I be here? Saying it makes me human doesn't mean anything. What am I supposed to take from that? I don't mean to sound harsh. It's just cruelty on top of cruelty and there's no limit. That's what these pictures are about. It's a moment of reprieve, a moment when someone's put the horror aside or channelled it into something pure. Maybe part of it is knowing you consumed all their effort in a split second and you can't give anything back. Maybe all they wanted was to give you that second of escape, but you can't sustain such an imbalance. Every time you see something pure you know it could be the last. And you can't spin it. You can't create something mawkish about the bittersweetness of life. It's one person trying to escape, and you trying to escape, and knowing you'll never escape together and all you have to look forward to is more years of numbing cruelty and decline and then whatever.
