>>16129223I recommend St. Augustine for those who are on the fence. He struggles with this concept a lot throughout the Confessions, then really drives the point home with City of God. I couldn't read it from a scholarly perspective, it spoke to me too clearly. I had to accept the truth and could no longer fight it, much in the way that St. Augustine did in his 30s. I love God with all of my heart and pray to him for guidance, which I believe he grants us through intuition and synchronicities etc.
