A smart person would be against things that go against their beliefs because they realize that eventually if left unchecked, their way of life will be intruded upon. I don't have a clue what has to happen to a person to make them think in such a manner that causes them to massively inflate non-issues to apocalyptic levels of importance while ignoring the real cancers that are eating away at our society.
