Buddhists have experienced Communism and know better than to tolerate it and Thailand successfully fought them off after a forest monk endorsed their killing (yes Buddhist have a just war theory too). Our ethnic communities are brimming with refugees, several of whom are veterans, who fought with US in SE Asia. I speak about the horrors of Communism to younger people when and where I can.
