It occurred to me that the thot bubble exists because corporations and academia started hiring/promoting/accepting underqualified women vs. their male counterparts in order to promote "diversity". Just like when the government creates an economic subsidy, this social subsidy for women in the workplace created a shortage elsewhere: the dating market. Women are now working jobs that they're not particularly good at or passionate about instead of being focused on starting families or being a good wife. When dating is no longer about having children, they only pursue relationships with the top percentile of attractive men to affirm their already inflated sense of self worth.
