He was one hell of an innovator and had incredibly lofty dreams that were cut off by dying from cancer.
He also had the wealth to actually pull that stuff off.
The only reason we didn't see that futuristic city become a thing, was that it was scrapped by the board after Walt's death, because it wasn't directly profitable for Disney company to build it.
