But so much of what she was used to was different. She’d visited Germantown and found it almost abandoned, the hostel she had stayed at reduced to rubble. The people too… there was something different. Not bad, per se, just odd. It was a grim reality to come to grips with. Even if she had been present physically, she’d been mentally gone from Spaghetti Town, gone from the ring for far longer. From when? She did not know.
Where had it gone wrong?
She gripped her fists, forced a smile, and kept walking. There was no point dwelling on negativity. That spiral had been what had lost her earlier. She was a fighter, and she would fight through this.
But she’d unleashed that fury on those who’d not deserved it.
She didn’t know what had happened to the Dojo, the rumours that swelled and persisted around the changes were a dime-a-dozen and each stranger than the last. Had she kept up with the product, she may have been prepared. But she had been lost.
Once again, like she had when she was a year younger, she arrived at the WWA Dojo. And she knocked.
