I've spent a lot of time thinking on whether to pull the trigger or not and just do it by turning a file into a fancy knoife but I've always assumed there must be more to it than get metal hot and whap it. Especially since heat treating and tempering is pretty much just the decision of whether or not to actually temper it (not everyone wants it tempered some are okay with cast iron) and I might not want to do it.
It really is I just don't want to look like that autistic dude making swords and armor in his yard.
