Interesting what you say about Turkey, there are people here (not sure how many, but at least one mayor of a once great, now mostly derelict and irrelevant city - think Blackpool) who believe we should get on their good side because their military is now a force to be reckoned with. If Russia and Turkey form an alliance, that greatly simplifies things for us - the current political establishment here is a painfully obvious EU plant that more people are growing weary of every day. Globohomo propaganda has also recently been ramped up and that's also turning people away from what once seemed like our one way ticked to first world status.
Since we've joined the EU, many parts of the old Wallachia have started to look more and more like India, while parts of old Transylvania have started to look more and more like once manicured Western European cities.
