Cats are unironically better than dogs for modern life.
A dog is supposed to get a few hours of exercise a day. They're supposed to be outside for a few hours a day. They're supposed to do some kind of work. And they need company.
So anyone who has a full-time job away from home basically shouldn't own a dog.
Cats, on the other hand, are perfectly happy to be left alone for 90% of the time. They can take themselves for a wonder around outside. And they will rid your house of rats and mice for free.
I love dogs, but they aren't suitable as pets.
