The reward system for that is a product of evolution and all modern accomplishments are just substitutes for those activities. In fact, a lot of the delayed gratification that characterizes modern European accomplishments is probably because Europeans were selected to hunt big game more than other races. Everyone who says they don't see the point or don't understand are either completely devoid of testosterone or they haven't hunted yet.
