These caps are not going back on again unless i sell the car. Going bare steels look.

No that isn't a good idea in my climate. I had alloys on my last car and the amount of road salt combines with the alloy tendency to fuse to hubs during winter makes this an impractical choice. Maybe if you are kind of person to pay somebody else to do all maintenance involving wheel removal that's okay amd not your problem.
