Yes there are 'Gods' but they bicker and die like humans, they are our ancestors (implying they were like us and thus human) and they don't really demand we do anything but serve as royal heritage for ancient bloodlines.
I notice they basically adhere to the idea of animal sacrifice and the ritual discarding of objects.
In terms of the afterlife, it seems those who die in battle get to dwell in Valhalla in Asgard or the Vanir equivalent, should you die by other means you go to the cold, sad realm of Hel.
It sounds like Judaism to me but with many 'Gods'. They also have a magic system involving runes, pleas and petitions to the Gods for success in various aspects of life. Charms, trinkets and things like that.
Personally, I think its just a perverted derivative of the true faith but people who are spiritually inquisitive should move on from Norse Paganism so it doesn't worry me or anything. I wish those people all the best.
