>"As if like a bolt from the blue, the clouds were wrenched apart, and the sun at its zenith appeared in all its splendor. It began to revolve vertiginously on its axis, like the most magnificent firewheel that could be imagined, taking on all the colors of the rainbow and sending forth multicolored flashes of light, producing the most astounding effect. This sublime and incomparable spectacle, which was repeated three distinct times, lasted for about ten minutes. The immense multitude, overcome by the evidence of such a tremendous prodigy, threw themselves on their knees.">"I feel incapable of describing what I saw. I looked fixedly at the sun, which seemed pale and did not hurt my eyes. Looking like a ball of snow, revolving on itself, it suddenly seemed to come down in a zig-zag, menacing the earth. Terrified, I ran and hid myself among the people, who were weeping and expecting the end of the world at any moment."The reason why I bring all of this up, is that I believe whatever appeared to Sister Lúcia and her two cousins, Holy Virgin or not, told her something so disturbing she wanted to take it with her to the grave. She refused to tell anyone what the 3rd secret was for years, until Pope Pious XII stated he had a similar vision in the Vatican's garden in 1940, and he then canonized the Miracle of the Sun as a Divine event recognized by the Catholic Church. Up until then what happened that day was considered demonic by the church, and the followers of Fatima were labelled as a cult. It wasn't until 2017 that Pope Francis official declared it a miracle and canonized Lúcia's two cousins who died as children, just as the Holy Virgin stated they would, as Saints.
Sister Lúcia then told the Pope the 3rd secret, a secret that the Vatican and the Catholic Church willingly kept hidden for decades. They released a snippet of Sister Lúcia's explanation a few years back but this just added more confusion.
