The latter I put down to american milk being abnormal compared to real milk from genuine dairy cattle, where american dairy cows have the wrong genes so put an 'abnormal protein' in 'american milk' compared to normal European milk.
It is this abnormal american milk protein that many are allergic to without realizing it, meaning american milk CANNOT be readily imported into Europe and used as an ingredient.
