>>14756428the Japanese are obsessed with their public image (which is something they actually learned from Chinese culture well over a millenia ago) so they carefully and tactically cultivate a positive image of their country in the eyes of everyone else. they've gotten so good at it that they can convince naive people to love Japan more than their own country. not to say that Japan doesn't have a lot of very good and cool things going for it, just that 50% of it is pure smoke & mirrors
