1. nazis tried to infiltrate, were caught and the offspring out of spite extra heavily brainwashed and turned into a puppet
b) russians that seized a lot from the nazis after the war tried to rebuild it and bring spies of theirs into the US more or less successfull seeing how those subverted the US
