>>16156611Ring circuits came in most during the Vietnam war due to the shortage of copper and aluminium was used for a period. The ring allowed them to have a higher current rating. But they are a pain to fault find. Especially when you start spurring off them as in this diagram.
The eternal Brit hasn’t moved on to radial only circuits with a maximum of 10 sockets and only one spur allowed off a switch-fuse spur. He probably still uses the loop live imperial system to lighting circuits and not to the switches without earths.
