Assuming they're on medication and the medication is working, there's no real risk here. Oh and AFAIK the virus does not survive outside the body, the viral particles will get almost instantly destroyed when exposed to air.
Some viruses can be very very durable and last infectious on surfaces for weeks. HIV is very fragile though.
