They heard whispers over the years, and a select few were in the know through extreme compartmentalization. Due to the melting and satellites as well as too many leaks it's been decided to bring in world leaders, and show them what is really there before they haul what they can to the Smithsonian vaults never to be seen again along with the machinery that was in the pyramids. This is why so many heads of state just happens to all be making visits around the same time. Whatever it is I don't think it bodes well for mankind because Buzz Aldrin since seeing it, and damn near dying over it has doubled down on wanting us to get a Mars colony going asap.
