oral, genital, or anal contact or penetration, forced
fondling, and rape. Respondents were asked
about their experiences with unwanted sexual
contact or sexual assault in a number of different
contexts. Definitions of these terms varied in some
questions based on the context or, in some cases,
on the national survey from which a question was
adapted. Where applicable, the definition provided
for “sexual assault” or “unwanted sexual contact”
in each question is included in the report.
