This pattern also occurs seasonally with bats, but as zebras are strictly herbivorous, not *omnivorous* and territorially omnivorous on top of that, without a flexible fruit supply and range, they're pretty much fucked. The population has already dwindled to the mid 2000s and are barely stable, so the gallon-pumping outlier is impossible unless they gain the capacity to digest meat and gain a more efficient zinc source in it.

Right whales do have testes 2m in diameter and 1000kg in weight, larger than that of the blue whale, and are believed to ejaculate approx. 40 gallons of emission, but given the obviously covert nature of this process it's never been observed and is purely mathematic extrapolation.
