what gets me about the jap case is that it's not only a tradition but it's something literally everyone follows, in the ttmik video they said you have to order weeks in advance. that's some deeply rooted stuff. who would suffer such indignities for kfc? i understand if it was like a novelty some people do if they feel like it but for literally everyone to be doing it is kinda crazy.
