90% of the time, actually watching the movie it legit looks like a red dot, still. Only certain scenes can the details of a pumpkin be seen, and even those times it still just looks like a light-source reflection.
So, I guess its plausible that its been this way. I Cant ever remember seeing Zero in any other context than the Movie itself, and it still looks like a red dot to me.
