>>4657880I don't know how seriously people here take this desu. There are going to be sexbots as the demand is there, realistic dolls are already being sold and development is already ongoing.
But the idea that they could replace real relationship with women seems pretty wacky to me desu. Porn didn't. Add hardware and AI and it becomes better than porn but still pretty far from the real thing. For many reasons.
Doesn't mean they couldn't be popular though. Porn is insanely popular already and it's even less than sexbots.
I get your point though. Even as AI becomes very advanced, you get to a point where the issue isn't that your companion is unintelligent or unable to interact meaningfully, etc, it's that it's a slave. And that's a different kind of relationship. Not necessarily as unhealthy as having a human slave as it would be programmed to want this, but still, not an independent being.
And that's not even considering the ethical issues. And if the economy would even still allow things like these to be mass produced at an era were humans are becoming obsolete.
There has been lots of sci-fi trying to demonstrate how silly and immature pet robots are. But then again so is a lot of our entertainment. And you're on 4chins, some of us here legit have imaginary waifus already.
For most people, sexbots are probably just going to be an unjustifiable expense, something no more meaningful than porn, or just a fallback for when they're single.
