The Earth has some features that allowed for life as we know it but it's pretty mediocre and in the middle of nowhere as far as the scope of the entire observable universe goes.
Much more likely is we're effectively alone i.e. Other lifeforms exist but the distances in space and/or time are so vast that we have no physical chance of ever contacting them.
Personally I think we're like space abos who are too simple and retarded to figure out how to start a galactic civilization.
