this book, despite its incredibly creative monsters and vivid descriptions of them, was utter shit to read. especially when the female protagonist showed up because he'd do nothing but put her in stupid situations so his self insert main character could save her. 0/10 for writing 10/10 for ideas. if anyone ever talks you into reading it, just look up the monsters and go read lovecraft instead.
