The only threat women used to have was from in the past was from the goons of political parties run by gangsters (like the SP and RJD) who used to abuse their power, not regular Indian men. Now that they are out of power, and especially with Yogi Adityanath in charge, those kinds of crimes are almost non-existent. It's even more high trust in the western and southern states.
