>>21093088>>21093098I quit over 5 years ago. Was in the beginning stages of liver failure, total financial ruin, and a generational substance abuse inheritance. No more booze for me, but the problem I run into now is social situations. If you go to a wedding- you drink, go to a party- drink, meet a friend to catch up- you drink. When you reveal that you no longer consume alcohol, people tend to react strangely. Most will offer a halfhearted "congrats", but what they really mean to say is "you are defective, and I no longer wish to spend time with you". Once I stopped giving a fuck about what my "friends" thought, it did not bother me. Point is, be prepared to lose a lot of people that you thought were in your corner.
