I used desktop linux before (dual boot) and my god is it much better in terms of how comfy it is and how efficient it is, but if i can't use my PC for what i even own a PC for then whats the fucking point.
i would love to use desktop linux when software gets there but so far the desktop linux commuity has been saying for 10+ year, and it hasn't happen
Thou i think if Microsoft starts shipping pre-builts with windows 10 pro S and starts pushing more spyware then we will see the spike in user ship we have been waiting for for oh so long.
