Eastern Europe seems to have a lot going for it, what with potential for economic growth and being a lot saner than the West.
And yep, some level of fascism is probably needed at all times, even in peacetime, so that a population doesn't become too complacent, spoiled, selfish and self-righteous, and has more respect in general. But that's not full-blown fascism. The full-blown version manifests during an existential struggle. That's when the military's way of doing things spreads throughout the society to enable a strong fighting response and protect oneself.
Also, kudos on your awesome forests, Finn bro!
