I wish I could take my XJ to Australia and go 4-wheeling with the Aussies on jewtube. I like how you guys do it. Varied terrain and then camp on the beach if possible. Americans are stuck on rock crawling type trails lately and you just beat your rig up doing that.

Depends on the transmission itself. I am a Jeep XJ fanatic and there are 2 transmission choices. The Aisin-Warner AW4 automatic is bulletproof and will give you several hundred thousand miles of trouble free service. The AX-15 manual..not so much from what I have heard. So automatic is the obvious choice.
