j/k but honestly i think most people on 4chan who are into animu traps just like the thought of a girl who is more masculine in their attitudes/wants/needs. lots of anime traps arent even drawn as boys, theyre straight up female characters that the artist just puts a footnote on reading "its a guy lol".
the original trap may may was Bridget, who literally was just that. the Guilty Gear dev team made up the character as a girl, and felt she wasn't as interesting as the rest of the cast. so at the last minute they wrote into her backstory that she is actually a he. the actual art for him remained unchanged
there's comparatively few people posting in actual trap porn threads, and it's usually either guys who are obviously real homos and talk openly about homo shit, or guys who are specifically into chicks with dicks/futa and dislike plain ol' crossdressing guys
tl;dr: most "trap lovers" arent gay and are just fapping to normal-ass female 2d characters with only female features and no male features. theyre just prison gay because they dislike entitled spoiled bitches, but not actually literally gay in that they like men
